Who is my neighbor? There is poverty, homelessness, and need, right here in our neighborhoods and in our parishes. For so many families, if there is an unexpected event like an accident, loss of a job, or an illness, it becomes difficult to make ends meet. For many formerly stable families, the risk of losing a roof over their head is very real and frightening. From Buzzards Bay to Provincetown and over to the Islands, Cape and Islands Vincentians are hard at work, every day, to feed, clothe, and shelter our less fortunate neighbors. We are volunteers, assisted in our efforts by donations of time, treasure, and talent from members of our community, who are willing to share what they have with others.

 

Our Mission

A network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness, and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need. 

In the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization inspired by Gospel values. The Society leads women and men from every ethnic and cultural background, age group, and economic level to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering.  Organized locally, Vincentians belong to an international society of charity.  The Society collaborates with other people of goodwill by embracing all works of charity and justice, making no distinction in those served.
